Novice I
Grades K– and up
Students are introduced to all equipment and develop basic tumbling and trampoline skills.

Novice II
Older elementary: Ages 7 – and up
Prerequisite: Novice I or coach approval
This class teaches young gymnasts new skills on each apparatus and helps students refine their tumbling
and trampoline skills.

Girls Intermediate Coach Evaluation Required*
Ages 8 – and up
AAU Levels 2–4
Skills progress to a more advanced level and gymnasts are introduced to competition.

Girls Pre-Team Coach Evaluation Required*
Ages 9 and up, AAU Level 2,3,4 skills
This class emphasizes readiness for AAU competition.

Girls Junior Team Coach Evaluation Required*
Ages 6 – 8, This class accelerates skill development for younger gymnasts planning to advance to higher levels of competition.

Girls Team Coach Evaluation Required*
Ages 9 and up, AAU Xcel Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Levels 2,3,7,8 and Open Optional. (9/10) 
Gymnasts develop required skills for Levels and compete in optional AAU
meets.

Women's Varsity Gymnastics
Ages 14–18
High Flyers is home to the Varsity Girls Gymnastics Teams from Howell High School and Brighton High
School. In practice, gymnasts work on individual skills and refine optional routines designed specifically
for high school competition. The teams practice and travel together, but compete against each other
and other high schools during the winter sports season from December—March.
