Our facility has been COVID updated. We have moved to a Portal login system HERE to allow our families to login to their account with their email and sign up for classes, pay, schedule make-ups and view any COVID credit. Daily Entry form needs to be filled out before entering the building for every practice. There is a QR code on the entry door for your convenience. Use your device camera in photo mode to take you directly to the Daily Form. Please make sure this form is filled out, before you enter the building.
Every gymnast should make sure to have their own water bottle and their own mask. Our classes are currently being run with an individual station for each gymnast. Remember, EVERYONE entering the building is required to fill out the Daily COVID form.
Note about our COVID updates:
We have a massive amount of air filtration in our facility. Our “air rotator” is designed for a facility 2x its current size, because of future potential expansion that has not yet happened, and we have added multiple Merv 13 (HEPA) and activated carbon filters to keep the air moving and filtered. Our big air rotator constantly pulls in 20% fresh air from outside when the building is occupied. When unoccupied we are doing large ozone treatments of the gym, lobby and pit. Over the past several months we have made many updates to the facility. We have taken extensive measures working to provide a safe environment for our gymnasts, families and staff including:
NOTE: Class times have been adjusted to allow time to sanitize between classes.
• Space and planning for social distancing - keeping our numbers (including parents, one parent per gymnast please) under 10% of the building capacity
• Nightly ozone of the big gym, lobby and pit
• Activated carbon and HEPA filters throughout the facility
• HVAC occupied air rotation constantly brings in 20% outdoor air into facility.
• Sanitizing surfaces and UV sterilization
• Hands-free building and bathroom entry
• Touchless water bottle filler, hand sanitizer, faucets, soap, toilets and driers
• New bathroom floors
• Daily screening form for everyone entering the building (see link above for forms)
• For the safety of all, we ask that everyone entering the building to please follow all COVID protocols
We will continue to follow the most recent data available and make adjustments to our plan accordingly.
Can't wait to see you soon!

The High Flyers Sports Arena, which moved to Genoa Township a year ago, has a bigger space for gymnasts to hone their talents. Livingston Daily
Nancy Gregory needed more space for her Brighton gymnastics center. She found it, four miles west in Genoa Township.
Gregory and her son, Wyatt, packed up their uneven bars, balance beams, floor mats and other equipment in October and moved their business, High Flyers Educational Gymnastics Center, to 960 Victory Drive, the former home of Kick & Sticks Sports Arena. They then gave their facility a new name to reflect their all-inclusive approach to sports.
The facility they now own, High Flyers Sports Arena, has more than twice the space of the old building they leased for 10 years on Euler Road, increasing in size from 9,000 square feet to 20,000 square feet.
"We wanted to expand," Nancy Gregory said Monday. "We wanted more space, specifically to hold meets.
"We had meets in the other space, but it was very crowded," she added. "It was very important for us to own our own building, and it's a huge advantage for us to do that."
High Flyers gymnasts compete across the country and put on demonstrations at schools and festivals to promote physical fitness and gymnastics. Their arena is the home of the Brighton and Howell high school gymnastics teams.
The new facility has enough space for two full-size spring floors instead of one, more uneven and parallel bars, balance beams, steel rings, two vaults and a strengthening corner, Gregory says with a smile, for future Ninja warriors. It also has 4,500 square feet of turf for baseball, soccer or archery practices and offers more cheerleading classes.
The Gregorys also increased the size of their coaching staff from 14 to 18, including Tracie Richards, a cheerleading coach.
Richards coached the University of Michigan cheer team to the College Cheer Nationals.
High Flyers offers separate classes for boys and girls, from toddlers through high school, and six levels of classes.
The Gregorys believe their gym is the perfect place for athletes who play multiple sports because gymnastics promotes strength, flexibility, coordination and agility.
"Gymnasts make good pole vaulters, divers, hurdlers, sprinters and Ninja warriors," Nancy Gregory said.

High Flyers Gymnastics Center moves to Howell from Brighton, becomes full-service sports arena
High Flyers Educational Gymnastics Center moves into 20,000 sq. ft. facility, changes its name to High Flyers Sports Arena. Classes start Nov. 2, with the public Grand Opening Sunday, Nov. 22
If there’s one thing that High Flyers Gymnastics Center has stood for over the past 28 years, it’s growth — teaching students from preschool through high school to believe in themselves and grow as athletes and individuals.
Owners Nancy and Wyatt Gregory have taken their own advice. Recently, they’ve grown from strictly gymnastics into a full fledged sports center that includes a designated preschool area, cheer practice floor, 4,000 sq. ft. multi-use turf area for batting and soccer practice, and facilities for parties and other special events.
New location
In terms of distance, the move from their previous home just off Grand River Avenue in Brighton to the former Kicks and Sticks facility at 960 Victory Drive in Howell is a mere 4 miles. But moving tons of gym equipment and constructing new areas—like the 6’ deep tumbling pit filled with thousands of foam cubes— was a Herculean effort. After hundreds of hours spent digging, painting, laying a turf carpet and setting up equipment, the owners have the gym ready to open for fall classes starting Monday, November 2.
New concept
The real transformation goes far beyond what’s inside the 20,000 sq. ft. facility, Nancy Gregory points out. “We’ve always attracted young people who had an interest in gymnastics and athletics,” she says. “But today, like never before, there’s a need to get children involved in sports activities that help them understand how important fitness is to a healthy life.”
Prying kids away from video games and cell phones takes a new concept in youth fitness, something the Gregorys express in just three words: “Yes you can.”
Co-owner Wyatt Gregory grew up and trained at High Flyers, was part of the state champion Hartland High School Men’s Team and also part of Western Michigan National Independence Championship gymnastics team. Twice named Michigan High School assistant coach of the year, Wyatt says he’s ready to make believers out of even the most sedentary kids. “Our programs might be the first time kids have really challenged their bodies. They’re amazed to see what they can do.”
Chris Chanavier started his gymnastics career at High Flyers in second grade and went on to compete at the University of Iowa. Chris says he enrolls his son in gymnastic classes because “he builds physical skills he can use for any sport.”
Nancy Gregory and fellow teacher Nancy Hanes, two of the gym’s original founders more than 25 years ago, have seen thousands of kids realize their potential. High Flyers gymnasts consistently bring home medals in district, state and national competitions sanctioned by USA Gymnastics and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), the two major national gymnastics organizations.
Just as students are asked to practice healthy habits, High Flyers works hard to provide a safe, clean, educational environment. “From our equipment to our instructors and lesson plans, safety is of utmost importance,” says Nancy, a nationally certified gymnastics coach. “We teach skills with the correct form and in the right sequence so students have the background and confidence to stretch themselves,” she says.
In addition, High Flyers has top-rated equipment, and all of its head instructors are safety certified and trained in CPR.
New services
The growing interest in cheerleading competitions led the owners to create a separate cheer practice floor for individual classes and enough space for entire teams to practice their routines.
Program Director Tracie Richards is an alumni cheerleader from both Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, where she was a cheer coach for nine years, taking its team to College Cheer Nationals.
Knowing the importance of giving kids an early start in fitness—and the need for after-school programs offering more than school-related skills, High Flyers has created an innovative preschool program with its own area and right-sized equipment.
Parents are part of the picture, too, and can watch their children practice and compete in a large spectator area with a full view of the gym.
Sound instruction
High Flyers’ teaching methods have been refined over decades. Separate classes for boys and girls are grouped by age and skill level, corresponding to USA Gymnastics competition, although competing is strictly optional.
Girls start in novice classes and can progress through junior competition to women’s varsity teams. High Flyers is proud to be home to the Varsity Girls Gymnastics Teams from both Howell High School and Brighton High School. Boys programs follow a similar progression from basic skills to men’s varsity teams. High Flyers has produced top gymnasts such as Evan Heiter, who recently shared the TV commentary stage with former Olympian Sam Peszek.
Classes run in 7-week sessions throughout the school year. The first fall session begins Nov. 2, but students can join any time for a prorated fee. A full class schedule and online registration is atwww.HighFlyersGym.com. For questions about specific classes and services, contact the gym at 810.229.7740.
The public is invited to see High Flyers programs in action at the grand opening set for 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.

High Flyers gymnasts bring home the gold, build programming for fall
In the spirit of the Olympics, a Brighton area gymnastics center has been pursuing gold-medal goals of its own throughout the summer.
After qualifying at the Michigan state championships for youth gymnastics, 21 local gymnasts from High Flyers Educational Gymnastics Center recently competed at the national level and brought home the gold. The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Age Group Championship for gymnastics was held in the Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. At the event, gymnasts from High Flyers were awarded 56 medals for their performances.
Nearly 1,400 gymnasts from 16 districts and 88 gyms participated in the championship meet. The competition included compulsory, novice, intermediate, advanced and freestyle acrobatics divisions for various boys’ and girls’ age levels.
Following the success of the competition, High Flyers implemented a “Tumbling to London” program to further celebrate the 2012 Summer Olympics. Gymnasts added up the miles as they ran, walked or bicycled, with a goal of equaling the 3,761-mile journey from Brighton to London, England.
With back-to-school time right around the corner, the center is building on its programming with new classes for fall. Programs include parent/tot, developmental and pre-novice through high school classes, as well as a newly expanded cheerleading program.
“From preschool through high school competition, we teach kids to live healthy and strong in everything they do,” said Nancy Hanes, co-owner of High Flyers. “We support our athletes in all that matters most to them, inside and outside of the gym. Our commitment puts kids first with a gymnastics program that encourages them and gives them room to grow.”
High Flyers is co-owned by Hanes and Nancy Gregory and has been in operation for over 20 years. The award-winning staff consists of several nationally-certified gymnastics coaches, three Coach of the Year Award winners, former elite participant of the Olympic Trials, and a nationally-rated college and certified USAG (USA Gymnastics) judge.
Fall classes begin September 4. High Flyers Educational Gymnastics Center is located at 2244 Euler Road, Suite 104, in Brighton. For more information or to register, visit highflyersgym.com or call 810.229.7740.
